After the Giovanni Michelotti redesigns of the early 1960s – the Trunk area, or “Boot” as us Brits call it, was also overhauled due to changes in the bodywork tub and fuel/petrol tank. The concept of the panel remained the same as the earlier TR2-3B models – with a millboard panel covering the bulkhead of the Boot / Trunk area directly behind the main fuel tank. Again, this was supplied as standard in a black surface grain finish – imitating the look of leather. This Panel remained consistent for all the TR4, TR4A (IRS) and TR250 models – but differed for the Petrol/Fuel Injected “P.I” systems of the short production run TR5 models. For the TR5 models, the panel was slightly wider with a creased element to the board allowing it to bend around and cover the fuel pump which was positioned in the left wheel arch fender area.

John Skinner Ltd has used the same templated design based on the original panel for decades – supplying tens of thousands of these over the years.  John has himself owned various TRs over the years, including his treasured TR5 which he still owns – so we have tried and tested these specific parts first hand. We offer it in the pre-cut black grain-faced millboard material – as per the original factory production line cars. We can also offer a more premium option as part of our JS Bespoke range – where we upholster this millboard in Vinyl, Nylon or Wool – giving the whole Boot area a more luxury look and feel.

You should consider the floor Mat and Side Panel Kit in conjunction with this Boot Liner Board to achieve the best results when restoring your Boot Trunk area of your Triumph TR.

Please note that the colour names refer to internal John Skinner Ltd names, not necessarily the names Triumph originally used for these colours.

Due to industry-wide inconsistencies in production and record-keeping, it is widely accepted that the interpretation of original shades varies depending on who you ask. As a result, John Skinner Ltd offers multiple “original” shade options for you to make your final choice from. Below is a list of these accepted “original” colour choices that John Skinners can offer for your Triumph restoration project.

Due to the range of products we offer, and our worldwide customer base, we can only calculate an accurate shipping cost once Your Quote has been received by our Sales Team. As there is no payment required at this stage – use our online shop in full confidence, with zero commitment to purchase – and send us your Quotation request for your interior trim requirements; and we will get in touch directly with you with an updated Quote, which will include the shipment costs.

In the meantime, basic guideline shipping costs are outlined below.

(For all non-UK shipments – the final price per box depends on the size of the box – which is dictated by the items in your final selection)

UK: £10.50 – £20 per box

Europe & European Union: £20 – £120 per box

North America & Canada: £28.50 – £125 per box

Rest of World: £42.50 – £200 per box

Generally speaking, a complete car interior kit (Trim Panels, Carpets, Seat Covers, Boot/Trunk area, Soft Top Hoods etc) normally requires 2 x FULL Size Boxes, with some cars needing slightly less, and some slightly more.

Please note that these prices are exclusive of VAT (UK Customers ONLY) and any additional customs or handling charges that may be incurred during shipping. These prices are given as an approximation only.

Brexit

You can read a full guide to Brexit and JSM here.

To briefly summarise the details…

As of January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union (EU). As a result, several changes have been implemented which affects how EU based customers now purchase things from the UK. Here is a brief overview…

The UK Value Added Tax (VAT @ 20%) is no longer applicable to any customers purchasing from outside the UK, assuming these goods leave the UK. To clarify, no VAT (20%) will be charged on initial purchase for any goods leaving the UK.

Instead your local country tax is charged upon importation into that country. This is based on the value of the goods as stated on the customs Invoice we supply. For most European countries – the result of this change is minimal as most local taxes range between 17% and 22% for the large majority of EU based countries. Note that some countries have lower tax rates, and others have higher, this is purely a guideline.

You will be contacted by a customs official upon arrival of the parcels to the destination country – and they will request payment of these taxes.

All shipping agents levy a small administration charge for “clearing customs” normally of a value around €5 – €10.

Our products are 100% UK Manufactured, therefore our products are Tariff/Duty free – meaning that you should not incur additional tariff charges upon importation. It should be noted that we use the HS Commodity Code (Tariff Code) 8708.99.9790 “Parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of headings 8701 to 8708 > Other Parts…” – for the majority of the kits that we supply.

For any Trade or Wholesale Customers – if you provide us with your EORI number – then this is noted at the point of import, allowing you to claim back the Tax from your local government when you issue you tax returns.
