Update – Retail Customers

Following on from our message in May – we thank you for your on-going patience whilst we worked through our backorders. You will be pleased to know that we have made significant progress –  and whilst we are still working through some backorders – we aim to be accepting all new retail orders again from the week commencing the 6th September 2021.

Going forward – to avoid disappointment with your restoration – we recommend that you place your order in plenty of time.

We encourage all new customers who are happy to wait to enquire using our website as follows:

Austin Healey & Triumph TR Customers – browse our extensive product library for details and pricing – selecting the products you are considering using our unique “Build a Quote” system. Once submitted, our experienced sales team can review our choices and get back in touch to discuss the finer details and send you material samples based on your choices.

Jaguar & MGA Customers – find lots of useful information and photos about the products we can offer for your restoration on the individual Model Pages for each marque/model. At the bottom of these model pages, you will find a Contact Form specific to your car – which you can fill in and submit with your restoration requirements – and one of our experienced sales team will formulate a Quote for you to get the ball rolling.

Note that all further information related to your enquiry will be processed and responded to after the 6th September 2021.

In the meantime, Happy Browsing…

Our Restorations

From the Jaguar E-Type Cut 7, to the first production Triumph TR TS01, we have been the choice for many notable restorations.

Our interiors have been featured in many Concours d’Elegance award winners and have been spotted in a number of F1 Grand Prix Drivers’ Parades. Below are some highlights of noteworthy restorations that John Skinner (Manufacturing) Ltd has been a part of.

Daimler Princess

In 2018, we were extremely privileged to be contacted to contribute Grey Wool Carpet material towards the restoration of the Daimler Princess belonging to the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

Jaguar E-Type Cut 7

In 2016, we supplied a full trim kit for the restoration of the Jaguar E-Type FHC Cut 7, famously driven – and crashed – by Dick Protheroe.

The full trim kit consisted of Vinyl Panels and LeatherFaced Seats in Midnight Blue with Dark Blue Wool Carpet and Hardura.

Triumph TR2 TS01

In 2013, we supplied interior trim items to Mark Macy of Macy’s Garage, Ohio, USA, for his restoration of the Triumph TR2 TS01 – the first Triumph TR to leave the production line in 1953. Given the history of the car, we supplied untrimmed blanks and raw materials to be assembled on-site in the workshop to allow Mark to accommodate for manufacturing inconsistencies in early production. We also supplied the Carpet Kit and Boot Trunk Carpet in Bright Red Wool.

Triumph TR2 ‘Jabbeke’

In 2016, we worked in collaboration with Protek Engineering in their ground up restoration of the Triumph TR2 ‘Jabbeke’ – famous for breaking the world land speed record. We supplied Trim Panels in Midnight Blue Vinyl (which included an extremely rare oval shaped door pocket hole), LeatherFaced Seats and a Grey Wool Carpet with Grey Leathercloth edging. The car was exhibited at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall in London in March 2017. Photography by Martyn Goddard, in association with TR Action Magazine and the TR Register.

Triumph Register of America Best of Show 2018

A 1961 Triumph TR4 Surrey Top, owned and restored by Mark Macy of Macy’s Garage, Ohio, USA won Best of Show at the national meet of the Triumph Register of America (TRA) 2018, achieving the first ever 100 Point Score in the history of the TRA. We supplied Vinyl Panels and LeatherFaced Seats (TR3A style) in Midnight Blue, alongside the Boot Trunk Liner Board, Glove Box, Headliner, Sunvisors and Seat Springs.

Triumph TR3A ‘La Dolce Vita’

We worked with Robmotor Engineering in Italy to supply the interior trim for their restoration of a 1958 Triumph TR3A that was famously used in the 1960 film ‘La Dolce Vita,’ directed by Frederico Fellini. We supplied Cherry Red Vinyl Panels and LeatherFaced Seats with White Piping, a Red Wool Carpet Kit with Cherry Red edging and a Black Boot Trunk Kit.

2014 Singapore F1 Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Pastor Maldonado

We supplied the interior for an MGA Roadster that appeared in the 2014 Singapore Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Pastor Maldonado. The MGA Roadster was trimmed with Cherry Red Leather Panels, Leather Seats and Armrest with a Black Wool Carpet. We also supplied the Hood and Tonneau in Black Mohair, and the Sidescreen Storage Bag in Cherry Red Vinyl.

2017 British F1 Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Valtteri Bottas

A Triumph TR6 trimmed with our interior appeared on the 2017 British Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Mercedes F1 driver, Valtteri Bottas. We supplied Black Leather Panels and Leather Seats with French Blue Piping. We also supplied a Saville Grey Wool Carpet Kit, a Black Wool Carpet for the Boot Trunk Area and a Hood Frame Cover in Black Mohair.

2018 Canadian F1 Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Charles Leclerc

We supplied the trim for an Austin Healey BJ8 that was featured on the 2018 Canadian Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade with Charles Leclerc and was driven by John Colgate, former Healey racing driver and co-driver to Steve McQueen at the Sebring 1962 world championship event. We supplied Panels, Seats and Armrest in Bright Red Vinyl, with a Bright Red Wool Carpet edged in Cherry Red Leathercloth and a Black Armacord Boot Trunk Kit.
