After the Giovanni Michelotti redesigns of the early 1960s – the Trunk area, or “Boot” as us Brits call it, was also overhauled due to changes in the bodywork tub and fuel/petrol tank. Unlike the earlier TR2-3B models, the Trunk area did not include a luggage floor carpet/map – instead just a millboard Liner Panel in front of the fuel/petrol tank – and a black plywood base panel to cover the spare wheel. However, during the transition to the TR6 with subtle re-stylings undertaken by Karmann of Germany – the carpet luggage mat was re-introduced for both the Carburettor and Petrol Injection TR6 models.

Our luggage mat floor covers have been templated from the original factory designs – and with John himself having owned various TRs over the years, including his treasured TR5 which he still owns – these parts have tried and tested first hand leaving you safe in the knowledge that we know these parts are suitable for purpose. We can offer this mat in Wool, Nylon or Hardura, and it includes edging in the original Leathercloth (Vynide) material used to edge the main cockpit carpets. For the Petrol Injection TR6 models, there is a corner cutaway in the carpet to allow for the petrol pump in the left front corner

You should consider the Side Panel Kit and Fuel Liner Panel in conjunction with this Boot Mat kit to achieve the best results when restoring your Boot Trunk area of your Triumph TR.
