There is a good reason why glove cubby boxes are still a common feature for modern-day cars – the storage is ideal and very convenient. Make sure your dashboard cubby box does not let down the look and feel of your Triumph TR.

Despite the radical changes to the overall look and design of the TR4 models when compared with its predecessor – many of the basic concepts remained in place. The cubby box, situated on the passenger side of the dash facia assembly panel was one of these features which were carried over from the TR3A era. Due to the re-design of the dash and console area – the “glove” box cubby assembly was different in shape to the earlier TR versions – with a smaller, square-shaped design favoured for the TR4 models. Unlike the earlier glove box units – which were supplied in a similar shade to the main interior trim colour – the Gloveboxes fitted to the TR4 to TR6 were always in supplied in black, and were not flocked either – instead being supplied in a grained millboard material, regardless of the main trim colour. This overall design was maintained throughout the TR production era up until the end of the TR6s; although a slight alteration was made for the TR5/250 & TR6 models to allow for the newly introduced interior light.

Our gloveboxes are templated using the original factory designs – and have been tried and tested for decades on thousands of cars around the world. John Skinner himself has owned multiple TRs in his life, and so knows first hand of the suitability to purpose and fit of his own products. We use the correct thickness millboard material and supply these fully riveted to shape, ready to be fitted to the car. We commonly supply these parts in the original black grain faced millboard, but as part of our JS Bespoke range – we can now offer these cubby boxes in a flocked finish in a limited number of shades. Our knowledge of these parts and decades of experience in manufacturing these parts has made John Skinner Ltd the industry benchmark in quality and finish for your Triumph TR interior trim panels.

In the meantime, basic guideline shipping costs are outlined below.

(For all non-UK shipments – the final price per box depends on the size of the box – which is dictated by the items in your final selection)

UK: £10.50 – £20 per box

Europe & European Union: £20 – £120 per box

North America & Canada: £28.50 – £125 per box

Brexit

You can read a full guide to Brexit and JSM here.

To briefly summarise the details…

As of January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union (EU). As a result, several changes have been implemented which affects how EU based customers now purchase things from the UK. Here is a brief overview…

The UK Value Added Tax (VAT @ 20%) is no longer applicable to any customers purchasing from outside the UK, assuming these goods leave the UK. To clarify, no VAT (20%) will be charged on initial purchase for any goods leaving the UK.

Instead your local country tax is charged upon importation into that country. This is based on the value of the goods as stated on the customs Invoice we supply. For most European countries – the result of this change is minimal as most local taxes range between 17% and 22% for the large majority of EU based countries. Note that some countries have lower tax rates, and others have higher, this is purely a guideline.

You will be contacted by a customs official upon arrival of the parcels to the destination country – and they will request payment of these taxes.

All shipping agents levy a small administration charge for “clearing customs” normally of a value around €5 – €10.

Our products are 100% UK Manufactured, therefore our products are Tariff/Duty free – meaning that you should not incur additional tariff charges upon importation. It should be noted that we use the HS Commodity Code (Tariff Code) 8708.99.9790 “Parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of headings 8701 to 8708 > Other Parts…” – for the majority of the kits that we supply.

For any Trade or Wholesale Customers – if you provide us with your EORI number – then this is noted at the point of import, allowing you to claim back the Tax from your local government when you issue you tax returns.
