We are currently experiencing unprecedented levels of demand for our products. In order to maintain the exceptionally high quality and workmanship that we are known for, we will be temporarily pausing all new retail orders for a 6 week period. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
We encourage all new customers who are happy to wait to enquire using our website as follows:
Austin Healey & Triumph TR Customers – browse our extensive product library for details and pricing – selecting the products you are considering using our unique “Build a Quote” system. Once submitted, our experienced sales team can review our choices and get back in touch to discuss the finer details and send you material samples based on your choices.
Jaguar & MGA Customers – find lots of useful information and photos about the products we can offer for your restoration on the individual Model Pages for each marque/model. At the bottom of these model pages, you will find a Contact Form specific to your car – which you can fill in and submit with your restoration requirements – and one of our experienced sales team will formulate a Quote for you to get the ball rolling.
Note that all further information related to your enquiry will be processed and responded to after this 6 week period (end of June).
Depending on the look and feel of your restoration, our leather hides are available in 3 different finishes; Grained, Smooth and Antiqued. Whilst grained and antiqued leathers are favoured for their look of familiar authenticity, our smooth leather has a pristine quality and is the leather of choice where restorations demand an impeccable finish.
For simply outstanding restorations, we offer our Trim Kits in original specification Connolly Vaumol™ leather. See below for the Connolly Vaumol™ colour range.
Our grained leathers feature a subtle textured finish to the surface and remain a popular choice for restoration projects. The naturally occurring variations in shade and texture across the surface of the hide give an authentic appearance that betters with age, whilst the grained finish enhances with creasing and blemishes that naturally develop with use.
Antiqued leather was used on original factory production lines to meet the demand for aged-looking leather, and is still used today. To achieve the look, grained hides are over-printed with black dye to give an authentic mottled effect to the surface. It remains a popular choice for restorers looking to re-create a vintage worn-in feel.
This is the natural look of leather that was widely used by Jaguar during the era of the 1940s to 1980s. This smooth finish has been manufactured to replicate the original Connolly Vaumol™ leather used on several British classic car manufacturers. This is the appearance of leather prior to any print pattern grain being embossed onto it. The smooth surface is more prone to scuffing & creasing, but this is appreciated as a sign of character that comes with use.
The choice of Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Bentley, amongst many others, Connolly Vaumol™ created interiors of distinction throughout the golden age of motoring. With an esteemed British heritage and history, Connolly leather remains as prestigious today as it was then.
The natural grain of each hide is celebrated and treasured as a hallmark of individuality and origin, whilst original Vaumol™ processes and finishes developed in-house continue to bring a unique patina and aroma to each hide.
Available in a range of 30 colours, the Connolly Vaumol™ palette has been created from the archives, capturing the most popular colours from the period upto 1970. Luxan hides are treated with a secondary colour to further enhance their depth of colour and appearance.
