Always supplied in black from the factory – the Windscreen/Dash/Console areas on the TR4A to TR6 models became quite a focal point of the cars with both heavy usage and exposure to the elements. Accepted Original Colours These are the shades that JSM can supply that may be suitable interpretations of the original colours supplied on the production line. Original colours are often widely disputed & debated - and we do not want to limit your choices or be too pedantic - so, where possible, we like to offer a few options. For more in-depth information about original colours for particular models, please contact us directly to discuss. Note that the number of shade options may increase/decrease depending on the availability of shades in that particular material (i.e. Grained vs Smooth Leather or Nylon vs Wool Carpet shade options may differ).

All the Giovanni Michelotti designed TR models featured similar windscreen assembly units; which was also continued into the TR6 range. These cars featured moulded finisher assemblies bridging the gap between the bodywork and the glass windscreen itself, with the assistance of a rubber seal. In total, this kit is made up of four pieces –  two long framework strips across the top of the windscreen, and base section, in front of the dash top crashpad area; as well as left and right a post pillar units on the outside edges of the glass windscreen. As with the surrounding dash and console on these TR4-TR6 models, this area was always supplied in Black from the factory production line.

As with other areas of the dash and console section – John Skinner Ltd have developed pre-cut material patterns to enable you to re-upholster your original units. We maintain the opinion that for certain areas of the car it is best to reuse your original parts to ensure the correct fitment to your individual model, rather than risk using poorly fitting and cheaply manufactured after-market parts.

We can supply this material kit in Leathercloth (Vynide), Vinyl (Ambla) or Leather – in either Black to suit originality or a custom colour scheme. These “Re-Trim Kits” are to be used in conjunction with your original frame and pillar assembly units to re-upholster these original parts. Unlike many other suppliers, John Skinners can also offer these material covers in Leather (either grained or smooth) – and when supplying these parts in leather, we will “skiv” these parts down for you at no extra cost. Skiving, or the thinning of leather is a process to reduce the thickness by slicing away a layer of the “flesh” underside. This finish is especially useful for areas that are to be folded or bent whilst remaining pliable and without losing any of its core strength. It is this detailed knowledge of these parts through decades of supplying kits, and our investment in machinery such as our leather skiving machine that has allowed us to improve the options available to our customers without compromising on suitability to the purpose for the cars. Due to industry-wide inconsistencies in production and record-keeping, it is widely accepted that the interpretation of original shades varies depending on who you ask. As a result, John Skinner Ltd offers multiple “original” shade options for you to make your final choice from. Below is a list of these accepted “original” colour choices that John Skinners can offer for your Triumph restoration project.

Please note that all materials are subject to colour shade differences between production batches. There may be subtle differences in colour shading between sample cuttings and final production material.

Generally speaking, a complete car interior kit (Trim Panels, Carpets, Seat Covers, Boot/Trunk area, Soft Top Hoods etc) normally requires 2 x FULL Size Boxes, with some cars needing slightly less, and some slightly more.

As of January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union (EU). As a result, several changes have been implemented which affects how EU based customers now purchase things from the UK. Here is a brief overview…

The UK Value Added Tax (VAT @ 20%) is no longer applicable to any customers purchasing from outside the UK, assuming these goods leave the UK. To clarify, no VAT (20%) will be charged on initial purchase for any goods leaving the UK.

Instead your local country tax is charged upon importation into that country. This is based on the value of the goods as stated on the customs Invoice we supply. For most European countries – the result of this change is minimal as most local taxes range between 17% and 22% for the large majority of EU based countries. Note that some countries have lower tax rates, and others have higher, this is purely a guideline.

You will be contacted by a customs official upon arrival of the parcels to the destination country – and they will request payment of these taxes.

All shipping agents levy a small administration charge for “clearing customs” normally of a value around €5 – €10.

Our products are 100% UK Manufactured, therefore our products are Tariff/Duty free – meaning that you should not incur additional tariff charges upon importation. It should be noted that we use the HS Commodity Code (Tariff Code) 8708.99.9790 “Parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of headings 8701 to 8708 > Other Parts…” – for the majority of the kits that we supply.

For any Trade or Wholesale Customers – if you provide us with your EORI number – then this is noted at the point of import, allowing you to claim back the Tax from your local government when you issue you tax returns.
